Google Offer (coupons) are a great way to provide special discounts and deals to potential customers who view your listing on Google. Customers can print out your offer and present it at your business location, or they can check in to your business on their mobile devices to access special deals.
Psst! I spent a couple of hours looking around at dozens of Google Places pages and NONE had any offers – so you’ll really stand out with potential customers if you have one!

Offers are Especially Suited to Mobile Phones
Imagine your customers cruising in their car looking for your business on their mobile phones. What do will they think when they see a coupon or special offer?
What Kinds of Coupons are Popular?
- % off
- Something free (coffee, glass of wine, dessert, pair of sox, bumper sticker, promotional items)
- A tour of your facilities (winery, pub, gardens)
- Information (checklist, report)
To create an offer:
- Sign in to Google Places.
- Click the Offers tab in the top left corner of your screen, then click New offer.
- Next, you’ll be able to enter your offer details, including the headline, details, start and expiration date. You can also add an image or redemption code to your coupon. On the righthand side of the page, you’ll be able to preview your offer when it’s printed or on a mobile device.
- Select an option from the “Target customers” field to determine which visitors will be able to access this offer:
- All visitors
- Regulars
- VIPs
- Gurus
- When your offer is ready, click Publish at the bottom of the page.
Your offer will appear in your business listing within 24 hours. To find it in Google Maps, click more info in your listing’s info bubble, then click the Offers tab.
